I like to try new things. We had a new Boba shop opened across the street from us. I like to try new things and I am trying to play a game with myself where I don’t get into the rut of having the same thing each time I go to a place.
I am a massive fan of Anthony Bourdain — I have watched every show of his I could find, and I have read a fair amount of his literary output. He talks about Durian Fruit a number of times and about its unique flavour. It’s unique smell also gets a lot of press.
You can catch something of flavour in text, if you get proximate tastes that mix well in the mind’s eye, but it isn’t an exact science. So, what does it taste like? Cheese made out of banana? What does it smell like? I can only guess from the repeating aftertaste which I have been burping for the last couple of hours.
I don’t know what the texture is normally like … because smoothie, but I am thinking it might be something like a honeydew melon. They had other interesting snacks that did not have particularly elucidatory labels on them in the shop, but it across the street so I think it is guaranteed future patronage.
